AB Spauda

Spauda printing house is heir and successor to the traditions of the oldest printing house in Lithuania. The first Roman Catholic printing house was established in Vilnius in 1574 to fight the spreading ideas of the Reformation. From 1586 to 1805 the printing house belonged to the Vilnius University and received the status as royal printing house. From 1805 to 1940 it was run by the Zavadskis family of printers and publishers.
In Soviet times (1960-1990) the printing house was nationalised and executed the political will of the authorities.
After restoration of Lithuania's independence in 1990, the company was reorganised into Spauda Ltd.
Until today this printing house has made an invaluable contribution to the history of Lithuanian writing and culture.
Nowadays AB Spauda is one of the most modern and best equipped printing houses in Lithuania. It provides all printing services and accepts and transfers data by the ftp server. Works are performed using a five-colour Heidelberg press, which can print rapidly in large editions, and an eight-colour Man Roland press. The printing house has state-of-the-art folding, binding, gluing and stitching equipment.
The main productions of the printing house is the majority of newspapers and magazines published in Lithuania, books and brochures, as well as high quality posters, booklets and leaflets, other advertising publications and packages.
The company also provides additional services such as spot and overall UV varnishing, lamination, etc.
The clients of the printing house are public institutions, major Lithuanian publishing houses, editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, advertising companies, design studios, and publishers from Germany, France, England, Russia, Sweden and other countries. BDT - Baltic Design Transfer
