The Baltic Sea Forum e.V. was founded in 1992 as Pro Baltica Forum e.V. It possesses a representative network of members from the business world, politics and administration. The Baltic Sea Forum is a private organisation which works closely together with a number of governments as well as with state-wide, regional and local institutions. The Forum renamed itself on the 20th March of 2003 in order to express its focus on the whole Baltic Sea region even more clearly.
The Baltic Sea Forum has representatives in Aarhus, Bremen, Brussels, Helsinki, Kaliningrad, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Münchenstein, Oslo, Riga, Schleswig-Holstein, St Petersburg, Stockholm, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Gdansk.

2. Baltic Conference on E-Health
On 26 September, the Baltic Conference on E-Health will take place for the second time now at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Germany. The Conference targets the management of health services (hospitals, clinics, health authorities, health insurances, and health service providers) from Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
The programme of the Baltic Conference on E-Health 08 will provide a good mixture of lectures on Best Practice and E-Health Strategy. Conference participants will find an interdisciplinary forum for discussions about current trends and experiences in the following fields:
- Best Practice Solutions / Case Studies
- Disease Management
- Process Optimisation, Improvement in Efficiency and the optimal way of electronic communication as a major requirement for modern hospitals and clinics
as well as current developments at EU level.
